A fairly unassuming looking bungalow off the beaten track at Constantine Bay near Padstow is as deceiving to the eye as the Cornish weather. Traditional roof tiles top the building with the main roof and the roof of the extension forming a concave slope which could be a nod to the waves on the surfer’s coastline a short walk away. The day I photographed ‘Stymies’ the sun shone long enough for me to dash outside and set up a tripod just in time for the heavens to open again!
Step inside and you’ve walked in to a ‘tardis’ with open plan living overlooked by the mezzanine off which are two bedrooms and a family bathroom. Three bedrooms are on the ground floor, the owners had the house built to accommodate their disabled child. Two of the ground floor bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms and there’s a separate shower room too.
The living space feels much bigger than you would expect looking at the building from the road. There’s a log burning stove at the far end which not only helps to heat the room but adds a cosying touch.
